MJTE for Kinect: My Thoughts.
Michael Jackson: The Experience. I just got my copy today and thought I would write up a review on the game and the console it comes with and in return, if you would like to, I would love it if you shared what you thought about the game with us by email or in a comment on this post.
First and foremost; the console is a easy set-up with easy to use instructions. No buttons, no cord on the controller. That was one thing that caught me off guard when setting it up. Just place your finger in front of the eject area and it opens, same with the power button. But enough about the console, how about the game?
The opening had me and my family in awe, the graphics are so well done and I love all of the glittery-like effects. Very Michael-esque if you ask me. Once you are at the opening page, you show up on the screen and get to choose between three options. I would recommend the schooling first, it’s the warm-up, trust me you need this.
The songs they allow are seriously a wonderful choice. In Practice mode, you get to test out the moves before ‘performing’. It’s nice to get familiar with them first so you know the moves better and can get a higher score. Or if you want, you can work on a certain part of the song, including verses, chorus, intro and more, instead of doing it all in one run. Then there’s the option of Performance where you get to ‘perform in front of the crowd’. In some songs Singing and Dancing are the options, in others just singing.
The entire interface of the game is decked out in all Michael-esque and is a fun activity for everyone in the family or for friends too. I spent forever battling with my sister, Ashley today and I beat her on a few and she in turn, beat me as well on some. It is time consuming if you play tons of them, but is also a great thing to do when wanting to get in shape, showcase your knowledge for Michael’s moves or just learn them.
The entire stage setups are wonderful, it puts you straight on the stage up there with your ’background dancers’ or alone; depending on the song. I would have to give this game a 10 out of 5 stars. Seriously. It surpasses all of the games I have ever played, not to mention the best game for all Michael Jackson fans. It seriously is something to cherish and hold onto. The saying ‘Time flies by when you are having fun’ is perfect for this game, you seriously forget about the time and are just enjoying every second of game-play and it’s always fun to try and beat your own scores as well as other players’.
If asked my favorite part of the game or favorite song; I honestly cannot choose. I have enjoyed every second of it! But, would have to say my highest score I believe is on Earth Song.
